Growing up on
a 320-acre corn, bean and farrow-to-finish farming operation in
Iowa, Ron Raney learned the value of hard work and how to run a
business. Today as Executive Vice President of Hampton State
Bank, Ron combines his passion for agriculture and keen business
sense to assist business and agricultural customers of Hampton State
Bank in their financial decision making.
Ron earned a
B.A. degree in Management and a minor in Finance from the University
of Northern Iowa. He is also a graduate of the Iowa State
University and Iowa Bankers Association Ag Credit School, the Iowa
State University and American Bankers Association Graduate School of
Ag Credit, and the University of Iowa and Iowa Bankers Association
School of Banking and Commercial Lending School. He has also completed the Dale Carnegie Sales
Course and the Graduate School of Banking "Partnership
Selling" course.
Ron
understands that it makes good business sense to be actively
involved in the community. He has taken an active leadership
role as past President and past Board Member of Hampton Area Chamber of Commerce,
Chair and Board Member of the Franklin General Hospital Foundation Board,
current Treasurer and Past President of the Hampton Rotary Club,
Hampton-Dumont School Board, and treasurer of RAGBRAI Hampton 2007

Chamber initiatives and achieved the Chamber Super Ambassador award
for 2000, the Chamber Award of Merit for work on the
Summerfest Committee, and the Chamber Distinguished Service Award in
2006 and again in 2007 as a member of the RAGBRAI Central Committee.
Ron grew up in
Jefferson, Iowa. He and his wife, Sandy, a Speech-Language
