Our
pledge to you
-- At Hampton State Bank, we fully believe that
maintaining the confidentiality of our customer's information is at
the core of our relationship with our customers.
Therefore, our Board of Directors has adopted these Privacy
Principles to govern our commitment to you, our customers, that we
will protect the trust you have placed in us.

-- We understand that you expect the information
about you that you have entrusted to us will be handled
appropriately. You
should, therefore, be confident that we do not sell or share your
confidential information with any company that is not affiliated
with us for purposes of that company marketing their products to
you. We do not disclose
any nonpublic personal information about our customers or former
customers to anyone, except as permitted by law.
If you decide to close your account(s) or become an inactive
customer, we will continue to adhere to the privacy policies and
practices described in this policy.
Handling
your information

information about you to those employees who need to know that
information to provide products or services to you.
Employees who violate these standards will be subject to
disciplinary measures. We
maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply
with federal standards to guard your nonpublic personal information.

collection, and retention of your information

retain information about you only when we reasonably believe that
the information will assist us in our business and in providing
products and services to our customers.
We may also collect and retain information to protect your
accounts and identify you, to comply with certain laws and
regulations, and to aid in the development or improvement of our

customers' information is accurate, current, and complete in
accordance with commercial standards.
While some procedures are required by federal or state law,
we also have procedures for responding to requests to correct
inaccurate information in a timely manner, and to update information

information regarding their relationship with us that they believe
to be inaccurate.
Our
security procedures -- We have adopted commercially reasonable
security standards and procedures regarding access to your
information. We will continue to update and test our security systems and
procedures so that your information is secure and safe from
unauthorized access.
Providing
your information to others -- We do not sell or share customer
information to unrelated third parties for their own use and
purposes. We do share
information with companies that work for us.
For example, we may share information with companies that
print checks for us or provide other processing services.
These companies are acting on our behalf when they provide
these services and are obligated by contract to maintain the
confidentiality of the information we provide.
They are NEVER authorized to use the information for any
other purposes.
We
will only release your information:

When you authorize us to release information.

To companies that perform marketing services on our
behalf.

To other parties when it is necessary or helpful in
completing a transaction, including other financial institutions

addition, at your request we will put your name on a "do not
call" list, excluding you from telephone solicitations by
Hampton State Bank or any of our affiliates.

Our
web site -- Visitors to the Hampton State Bank web site at
www.hamptonstate.com remain anonymous.
We do not collect personal identifying information about site
users, unless you choose to provide such information to us.
Standard software is used to collect and store ONLY the
following non-identifying information about our visitors:

The name of the domain from which you access the internet
(i.e. your internet service provider).

The date and time you access our site.

The internet address of the website from which you linked
directly to our site.
Visitors
may elect to provide us with personal information via e-mail. This
information is used internally, as appropriate, to handle the
sender's request and manage the Hampton State Bank web site.

State Bank will NEVER ask for your Personal Identification Number
(PIN) for your Hampton State Bank ATM or Quick Check card.
