HAMPTON, IOWA
– Hampton State Bank announced that it will extend its $1 million
commitment to attract former Franklin County residents back to the
area through December 2008.
"It is Hampton State Bank’s
intention to fulfill the entire $1 million in Come Home to Franklin
County® loans," stated Brad Davis,
President & CEO of Hampton State Bank.
Launched in November 2005, the Come
Home to Franklin County® program is an
innovative economic development initiative offering low interest
home and car loans as well as other benefits to attract graduates of
high schools located in Franklin County to make their homes again in
the county.
"Come Home to Franklin County®
has proven to be an effective means to inspire people to return to
their hometown roots," says Davis. "In the history of the
bank, this program has been the best campaign Hampton State Bank has
offered. It is a proactive way to bring people back to our state and
to our communities, benefiting not only the individuals who take
advantage of the program, but also the communities where they
return."
Since it’s inception, Hampton State
Bank has assisted seven households under the Come Home program,
equaling $480,718 in low interest loans. The program includes home
and car loans at an attractive reduced rate, a free personal
computer, and free use of many Hampton State Bank products.
The Come Home to Franklin County®
initiative has also benefited Franklin County residents and
businesses by:
- Creating visibility in local,
state and nationwide media outlets
- Earning statewide industry
recognition for outstanding innovation and service, such as
the City of Hampton’s citing as Federal Home Loan Bank
Capital Community Award
- Hampton State Bank’s donation
of $250 to the Franklin County Development Association for
each program trademark sold to other Iowa banks (four programs
at $1,000 to date)
To qualify for Come Home to Franklin
County® benefits, applicants must:
- Be a graduate of a high school
located in Franklin County
- Return to reside in Franklin
County
- Receive credit approval for the
home and auto loans
Some restrictions apply and rates are
variable and may change.
Hampton State Bank has over $500,000
left to distribute through Come Home to Franklin County®
.
"HSB is motivated by
distributing the money and bringing people back, rather than a
deadline," says Davis. "The more people who take advantage
of this offer, the more our communities benefit; so I encourage
people to spread the word to their families and friends that HSB’s
offer to "Come Home" has been extended. We want them back,
and HSB has made it easy and affordable to come home."
