Dear Friends and Valued Customers,

It is with a great sense of honor and humility that I write this letter of thanks to those who have contributed to the success of Hampton State Bank over the last 75 years and, in particular, the last 29 years when I have been employed by the bank.

As a third generation banker, I have a great deal of respect for the community banking industry and its importance to communities across America, rural America specifically.  Banks and bankers play a huge role in the success and viability of the markets in which they serve.  My family and I have made a sincere attempt to have a positive effect on the social and economic well being of Hampton and Franklin County.  This is a special place where my grandparents, my parents and my children, have worked, played, volunteered and been educated.  I thank my family for allowing me the opportunity to serve as President of our family community bank.

The success of our bank must be directly attributed to the outstanding and experienced staff.  Our staff is the best in our market.  They are dedicated to the customer and they are dedicated to the communities we serve.  During my tenure, the bank has been branded as the "Bank with the Smile," "Dedicated to Superior Service" and "Working Smarter for You."  Our staff continues to be devoted to all of these themes today.  My family is indebted to our employees and our outside board members for their loyalty and hard work.  I offer a heartfelt thank you to them from the Davis family.

And, of course, we owe a huge thank you to our customers.  We are grateful for your business and sincerely appreciate having you as our customer.  YOU are the reason we are in business!  For 75 years, Hampton State Bank has had the outstanding support of the people of Hampton and Franklin County and we thank you for it.  We look forward to the future with optimism, working together with our customers, in good times and in challenging ones.  Your satisfaction is our priority and we will carry on offering you the very best service in 2009 and beyond.
